About Suzanne Kustner

Enamel Artist

Suzanne Kustner holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in education with a minor in art from California State University in Los Angeles. She has also studied with many internationally known enamellists. Suzanne is a member of the National Enamellist Society and several regional guilds. She has taught enameling at the Creative Arts Group in Sierra Madre California since 1979 and served as art consultant for the Duarte School District for ten years.

Suzanne's signature jewelry collection features small individually crafted cloisonné beads. The beads are unique in that there is a design on both sides; they are "true beads" with two fronts and no back. These delicate pieces can be worn individually or combined together on a necklace to create a unique look. Suzanne also creates beautiful bowls, dishes, and wall hangings of various sizes and colors.

Suzanne has achieved widespread recognition for her work including:

  • Exhibitor at the prestigious 1990 National Silver Competition sponsored by the major silver companies in the United States
  • Participant in the celebrated 1993 "Year of the American Craftsman"
  • Displayed in the 1993 Los Angeles County Fair fine arts building and demonstrating artist in the Willard Sheets Gallery
  • Featured artist at the Creative Arts Group in 1995
  • Featured artist in the Sierra Madre Art Festival in 1996
  • Best Wearable Art award at the Palos Verdes Art Festival in 2000
  • Pieces selected to be in the last six juried international enameling exhibitions sponsored by the Enamel Society
  • Two pieces featured in the books 500 Enameled Objects: A Celebration of Color on Metal and 1000 Beads
